This solstice marks the official beginning of summer in the Northern Hemisphere. The Summer Solstice is also known as festival solstice or midsummer which occurs when one of the Earth's poles has its maximum tilt toward the Sun.

Actually, it happens twice in a year, once in each Northern and Southern.
